  1. I thoroughly enjoyed this article. “Dead Faith, Are You A Zombie Christian?” Well done my friend. Keep on, keeping on.

  2. Hello Brother Brandon.
I could spend hours on this subject but I will get to the point. James 1:1 tells us the audience. It is the Jews who are scattered. This is the Jerusalem church scattered because of the persecution from the hands of Saul in Acts 8:1. These Jews are justified by their faith and works. James 2:24 “Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.”
If you don’t understand the Mystery given to Paul, an apostle born out of due time, you will get this wrong. Jesus last words were to Paul and Jesus is doing something different now than He was then. We have a different gospel today. Jesus gospel was the kingdom.
Mark 1:14 KJV “Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,”
Jesus revealed to Paul our gospel that saves today. When Jesus gave His gospel, He had not died, so it can’t be the same gospel.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 “1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
For the Jews, Jesus will sit on David’s throne in the new Jerusalem to rule and reign. The Jews will be a kingdom of kings and priest under their new covenant (Jeremiah 31:31-34).
If you don’t understand the mystery (The church, the Body of Christ) there will be contradictions in the Bible, like the one you are bringing up because Paul goes directly against James in our gospel for today. Today, we are saved by faith alone, in Christ alone.
How are we justified today, by works?
Romans 3:28 “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”
Romans 4:4-5 KJV “4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”
As you can see, we are justified by faith, not works. When you read outside of Paul, it always includes works because they are not written to you but for the Jews. Jesus last words came to Paul for the church today, the Body of Christ. If you don’t separate the two, it is confusing. We must “Rightly Divide the Word of Truth.”
2 Timothy 2:15 KJV “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
God has made promises to the Jews and God ALWAYS keeps His promises. He has made promises to His Body and He will keep them. He is faithful.
I appreciate some of your work and I appreciate you as a brother in Christ. Keep preaching the Word. If you want to know more, please let me know and I will be happy to show you through God’s holy, infallible, inerrant word.
The reason this is so important to me is because when talking to some deconstructionist, who say they were Christians but walked away from the faith because of the contradictions in the Bible, this is one of the points they brought up. Plus they brought up the gospel Jesus gave and the gospel Paul gave and said, “How can Jesus be preaching the gospel if He is still living?”
James plainly says, you are justified by works and not faith. Paul plainly says, you are justified by faith without works.
I hate watching people try to justify what the Bible says when they have to do spiritual gymnastics to explain it.
