  1. When I was a teenager, and stumped on a math problem, my Dad used to tell me to get up and go shoot baskets in the backyard. When I came back, he said, I would be able to figure it out. It worked, and I’ve found that to be true for most things in life–especially sermon preparation.

    1. Great example! My Dad used to say the same thing to me. I have often found that the best ideas and solutions come to me when I am out doing something.
