  1. I am sort of new to planning sermon calendars for a year at a time. In your experience, how much time is put in to developing a sermon calendar from start to finish?

    1. I typically set aside at least a full day or two to get away and work on at least getting the bare bones planned-like the key Scripture and topics. The exact title and big idea can be refined closer to the time of the message. It can be done in a full day because I have been capturing ideas and inspiration all year long. If you are starting from scratch, it may take longer.

  2. This was helpful, thanks. For the first time in 16 years of ministry I have planned all the sermons for the whole year, along with accompanying readings.
Things will change as the year progress’ no doubt, but its helpful (and less stressful) to have something to work from in advance.
